Katsina Police to Bolster Security at Schools After IGP’s Directive

Katsina Police to Bolster Security at Schools After IGP’s Directive

The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has ordered the Katsina State Command to step up security around all schools in the state. The Deputy IGP in charge of Finance and Administration conveyed the directive during a two-day operational visit. Command officers must increase surveillance, intensify patrols and improve intelligence gathering at schools. The initiative aims to prevent attacks, enhance emergency response and ensure students and teachers learn without fear. During his visit, the DIG inspected fencing, entry points and security posts at several institutions in Charanchi. He also met with school administrators to discuss stricter access controls and the prompt reporting of suspicious activities. Reaffirming the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to safe learning environments, officials say these measures will help protect educational facilities from ongoing security challenges in northern Nigeria.
