William Troost-Ekong Opens Up: 'I Miss My Super Eagles Family'
Former Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong admitted he still feels a deep connection to the national side months after retiring in December 2025. On a recent podcast appearance, the 32-year-old defender described how no other experience has replaced the family bond he shared with teammates. “More than anything, I miss being with the guys,” he said, adding that his hands still itch whenever he watches matches on TV. Troost-Ekong’s decade-long run began under coach Stephen Keshi in 2015. He ended his international career with 83 caps, eight goals, an Olympic bronze medal and was named Player of the Tournament at AFCON 2023 while forming the famous “Oyinbo Wall” alongside Leon Balogun.
