Real Madrid Target Italy U-21 Defender Honest Ahanor

Real Madrid Target Italy U-21 Defender Honest Ahanor

Spanish champions Real Madrid have been monitoring 18-year-old Atalanta centre-back Honest Ahanor, according to Sky Italia transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio. A left-footed player who can also slot in at left-back, Ahanor moved from Genoa last summer in a €17 million deal. This season the Italy U-21 international has made 28 appearances in all competitions, including nine in the Champions League, and has scored once. His rapid rise has attracted Real Madrid’s attention as they prepare for the imminent contract expiries of David Alaba and Antonio Rüdiger. Born in Italy to Nigerian parents, Ahanor’s blend of youth and versatility positions him as a promising defensive prospect for the Spanish giants.

Real Madrid's backline already looks solid, so investing heavily in an 18-year-old prospect might not address their immediate defensive needs.
