UNIOSUN Lecturer Secures $4,000 International Fellowship for Climate-Resilient Concrete Research

Dr Murtadha Adekilekun from UNIOSUN’s Civil Engineering Department has won the 2026 Travel Fellowship Grant from the Nigerian Academy of Engineering. The $4,000 award will fund a three-month research exchange at Germany’s Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing. His project explores sustainable, climate-resilient pervious concrete using agricultural waste ash and recycled aggregates. The Vice-Chancellor hailed this achievement as a milestone for the University’s global research ambition. The recognition reinforces UNIOSUN’s reputation in engineering innovation and sustainable development.

To maximize the fellowship's impact, Dr. Adekilekun could plan workshops on climate-resilient concrete for students and local engineers upon return.
