Sevilla Sack Matías Almeyda After Dropping Akor Adams

Sevilla Sack Matías Almeyda After Dropping Akor Adams

Sevilla have dismissed head coach Matías Almeyda after a disastrous run of form. The Argentine manager won just 10 of 32 games and conceded 49 league goals. A 2-0 home defeat to Valencia proved to be the final straw. Almeyda also admitted he was unhappy with Super Eagles striker Akor Adams and dropped him for that match. Adams remains one of the few positives, leading the team with seven goals this season.

You're right, 49 goals conceded points to shaky defence and maybe poor organization at the back.

Blaming Almeyda alone feels harsh; conceding runs deeper, like unstable backline chemistry and tactical experiments.

Blaming only Almeyda ignores the poor recruitment and injuries that hampered the squad's balance all season.

Before appointing a new manager, Sevilla must shore up their defence and address ongoing injuries to avoid repeating this dismal run.
