Embrace Your Daily Dependence on God’s Strength
Our ability comes entirely from God. As 2 Corinthians 3:5-6 reminds us, “Our qualification comes from God. He has enabled us.” True prayer springs from recognizing our helplessness. As one Christian writer explained, only those who feel helpless can truly pray. When the Spirit highlights our weakness, we see that we cannot believe, love, hope, serve, or even pray without God’s power. Jesus said, “Without Me you can do nothing” (John 15:5). Every task God gives us requires His favour and grace. If you can do it in your own strength, pause and ask, “Is this really from God?” Our King David echoed this truth: “I am poor and needy; yet the Lord thinks upon me. You are my help and my deliverer” (Psalm 40:17). Never lose sight of your dependence on Him.
