Anambra Traditional Rulers to Support Pilgrims Office in Reigniting Youth Spirituality

Anambra Traditional Rulers to Support Pilgrims Office in Reigniting Youth Spirituality

The Anambra State Traditional Rulers Council has pledged to work closely with the State Pilgrims Office to strengthen spiritual life among young people. Igwe Chidubem Iweka, chairman of the council and Traditional Ruler of Obosi, made the commitment while hosting the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Soludo on Pilgrims. He warned that recent years have seen many youths turn to idol worship and fetish practices under the guise of tradition. Mr Odira Ezeh outlined the pilgrim office’s mission to make holy-land pilgrimages accessible to traders, farmers, widows and the less privileged. He called on traditional rulers to help identify deserving pilgrims, promote values of faith, integrity and unity, and support plans to develop exchange programs and upgrade the Blessed Iwene Tansi Shrine in Aguleri into an international holy site.

A starting point might be organizing community workshops where elders and young people share experiences, pairing prayer sessions with mentorship and life skills training.
