Rangers GM Urges Players to Shift Focus to Federation Cup Clash

Rangers GM Urges Players to Shift Focus to Federation Cup Clash

Amobi Ezeaku, General Manager of Rangers International, has told the Coal City Flying Antelopes to end their NPFL title celebrations and turn their attention fully to the President’s Federation Cup Round of 32 match against Rivers United. Ezeaku stressed that completing a domestic double is within reach but hinges on the players’ commitment and mentality. He warned that Rivers United will come into the tie with extra motivation after missing out on the league crown. The Round of 32 fixture is set for Monday, June 1, 2026, at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo. All focus, Ezeaku insists, must now be on securing a Federation Cup victory.

Absolutely, staying focused until the final whistle will help Antelopes handle Rivers United without dropping their guard.

Shifting focus this quickly might backfire if the team's morale isn't fully committed to a new target.

How long do you think they'd need to embrace the Cup focus fully?

It feels counterproductive to halt celebration when league success could boost their confidence for cup matches.

Maybe a short celebration in training followed by tactical review could keep motivation up and focus sharp for Rivers United.
