Saka Backs England’s Talent and Hunger to End World Cup Drought
Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka believes England have the quality and collective drive needed to win their first World Cup since 1966. The Three Lions reached the last four in 2018 and the quarters in Qatar 2022, where Saka’s side were edged out by France. Speaking to FIFA, the 24-year-old praised the squad’s depth, passion and unity. “Everywhere you look there’s strength, hunger and competition,” he said. “It creates a great environment, and we’re all thriving together.” Saka added that he and his teammates aim to follow in the footsteps of Bobby Moore’s 1966 side and lift the trophy this summer.
