Nigeria’s Shot Put Record Holder Enekwechi Withdraws From 2026 African Championships

Defending champion and shot put record holder Chukwuebuka Enekwechi has pulled out of Team Nigeria for the 2026 African Athletics Championships in Accra, Ghana. He was listed among the 45 athletes chosen to represent Nigeria and was widely tipped to contend for gold. His withdrawal was confirmed this week by Making of Champions on social media.
