Iwobi: Osimhen’s Fearless Training Mentality Made Him a World-Class Striker

Iwobi: Osimhen’s Fearless Training Mentality Made Him a World-Class Striker — 1 of 3
1 / 3

Fulham midfielder Alex Iwobi has praised Victor Osimhen’s relentless drive in training and credited his fighting spirit for his rise to world-class status. Speaking on the Beast Mode On Podcast, Iwobi revealed how Osimhen’s fearless approach – whether duelling with Virgil van Dijk or a non-league defender – pushes him to create chances through sheer hard work. Iwobi noted that the Super Eagles striker often risks knocks in every drill, diving into challenges with his head or leg just to win. Despite some calling him raw, Osimhen’s work rate has delivered 56 goals in 70 games since joining Galatasaray in 2024. That ‘sick’ mentality to win every session, Iwobi said, even if it means bending the rules, is what sets Osimhen apart at the highest level.

Fighting spirit in training sounds great, but what about natural talent and game intelligence? Those aren't built in the gym.

Coaches should adopt similar one-on-one duels in practice sessions to boost players' confidence and resilience just like Osimhen's routine.
