Lagos Agency Seals Hotels, Bars and Gas Station over Noise and Environmental Breaches
The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA), working with the Lagos Environmental Sanitation Corps (KAI), sealed several hotels, bars, a church and a gas station on June 15, 2026. They acted on complaints about noise pollution and breaches of environmental regulations. Golden Click Hotel in Baruwa, 14:02 Lounge & Bar in Ipaja and Cherubim and Seraphim Church in Surulere were closed for excessive noise. Max Lounge in Surulere faced shutdown for both noise and air pollution. PetroSafe Gas Station on Ijesha Road was also sealed for obstructing officials. Other affected properties include Kilo Hotel, The Hotel Macs, Hotel Bel Am, Fecomillion Hotel, Serena Hotel and Suites, CitiLounge and Gariot. LASEPA’s General Manager, Dr. Babatunde Ajayi, said protecting residents from environmental hazards is a shared responsibility. He urged all businesses to comply with state laws. The agency plans to continue enforcement across Lagos to ensure a cleaner and safer environment.
