Governor Adeleke Boosts Health Worker Welfare with Increased Allowances
Health unions in Osun State have applauded Governor Ademola Adeleke for approving higher allowances for health personnel in state and local government services. They describe the decision as a significant morale boost that will strengthen healthcare delivery across the state. The Joint Unions—involving the Osun State Association of Medical and Dental Officers, the National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives, the National Union of Allied Health Professionals and the Medical and Health Workers’ Union of Nigeria—say this intervention will enhance productivity, improve service quality and encourage staff retention. They also praised the governor’s ongoing investments in facility renovation, recruitment of additional staff and policies aimed at widening access to quality care. In a statement on July 18, the unions expressed gratitude for the timely support and reaffirmed their commitment to people-centred governance.
