Inside Donna Duke & Tobe Rapu’s Stunning Igbo-Efik Wedding

Love brought two families and cultures together in Calabar. Donna Duke, daughter of former Cross River governor Donald Duke, married Tobe Rapu, son of Pastor Dr. Tony Rapu. Their Igbo-Efik traditional ceremony was a feast of regal attire and joyful celebration. Guests arrived in colorful outfits and the couple’s electric chemistry lit up every moment. At the reception, they danced as if lost in their own world. Donna later changed into a white dress and shared a sweet father-daughter dance with her dad. This celebration of love, family and culture was truly grand. We wish the newlyweds a lifetime of happiness.

The mix of Igbo and Efik styles in the outfits is striking, though it feels like they leaned more toward pageantry than authenticity.

For couples planning a union across cultures, consider hosting smaller pre-wedding ceremonies to involve elders from both sides in comfortable settings.
