Prepare for Sun and Showers: NiMet Forecasts Weekend Thunderstorms Across Nigeria

NiMet has predicted a mix of sunshine, cloud cover and rainfall from Saturday through Monday across the country. Northern states will enjoy mostly sunny skies on Saturday, with isolated thunderstorms and light to moderate showers over parts of Taraba State. In the North Central region, expect cloudy skies with occasional sunshine. In the South, residents should prepare for cloudy conditions with sunny intervals and chances of light to moderate thunderstorms in Rivers, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Lagos, Delta, Imo and other states. Similar weather patterns are expected on Sunday and Monday. The agency advises securing loose objects, avoiding driving under heavy rain, disconnecting electrical appliances and staying clear of tall trees during storms. Temperatures will remain high, so wear breathable clothing, stay in well-ventilated spaces and keep hydrated.
