I keep seeing ads for the e-commerce platform TEMU on social media and apps. In Edo, TEMU means “raise” or “elevate.” Whenever I see the name, I jokingly ask myself, “vba Temu na?” (“what are we raising?”). 😁 The word feels African to me.
