Growing Up in Love, Not Fear: Lessons from My Upbringing
In many Nigerian homes, spanking is often seen as the only way to discipline children. But that wasn’t our experience. We were guided with love, patience, and consistency rather than fear. We learned respect, boundaries, and responsibility without ever being intimidated. Our parents shaped us intentionally through wisdom and correction, not violence. I remain deeply grateful for that approach. Today, I honour the way they raised us and the lasting impact of their gentle guidance.
