Three Students Rescued Alive After Hostel Collapse Near Oko Polytechnic

Three students have been rescued alive after a three-storey private hostel near the Federal Polytechnic, Oko, collapsed on Sunday night. The students were taken to St. Michael Hospital in Oko for medical treatment. The lodge, Elite Five Star Lodge in Amokpala, Orumba North LGA of Anambra State, was occupied mainly by polytechnic students. Police, firefighters, officials of the Anambra State Emergency Management Agency and other responders are continuing rescue efforts. Authorities have not confirmed the number of people in the building, the total casualties or the cause of the collapse.
