Embrace Your Identity in Christ to Overcome Your Jericho
Before entering Jericho, God renewed the covenant sign of circumcision to remind Israel of their calling (Joshua 5:2). Spiritually, we share in this deeper circumcision through Christ’s work. Paul explains that we are set free from sinful desires by a spiritual operation (Colossians 2:11). As God’s children and members of Christ’s body, we enjoy forgiveness, fullness, and freedom from condemnation (Ephesians 1:1; Colossians 1:14; Romans 8:1-2). When the enemy brings accusations about your past, stand firm and declare, “I am dead to sin and alive in God” (Romans 6:11). Remind him of who you are in Christ—victorious and unshakable.
