Ex-Turkish Star Blames Buruk’s Overreliance on Osimhen for Galatasaray’s Slump

Ex-Turkish Star Blames Buruk’s Overreliance on Osimhen for Galatasaray’s Slump — 1 of 3
1 / 3

Former Turkish youth international Erman Toroğlu has slammed Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk for leaning too heavily on Victor Osimhen. Toroğlu argued in a recent interview that Buruk neglected to build a team capable of winning without its injured striker. He pointed to a 2-1 loss to Trabzonspor, a narrow win over Göztepe and a 1-1 draw with Kocaelispor as evidence of the coach’s failings. He also criticised Buruk’s handling of Mauro Icardi, saying the Argentine never got consistent playing time and felt alienated. There is hope ahead as Osimhen has returned to training and could be back in the squad before month’s end, potentially just in time for the derby against Fenerbahçe.

Do you think Galatasaray's tactics can adjust without Osimhen, or will they keep struggling until he's back?

Absolutely, losing Osimhen shakes their game. Buruk better switch tactics fast or more shaky days await!

You're right, they've leaned too much on him. Seems like they need fresh ideas to stay competitive.

Relying so heavily on one striker always risks collapse when that player is injured or out of form.

I'm not convinced Toroğlu fully understands Buruk's squad depth; injuries happen and sometimes you back your star to inspire teammates.

Buruk could rotate more players and develop a clear secondary attacking plan before returning to heavy Osimhen reliance.
