Quinten Timber to Miss Netherlands vs Sweden After Training Concussion
Quinten Timber will sit out the Netherlands’ second group match against Sweden after suffering a mild concussion in Thursday’s training. The Olympique Marseille midfielder collided with a teammate during the closed-door portion of the session in Kansas City. Timber, who marked his 25th birthday by coming on as a substitute in the opener against Japan, joins his twin brother Jurriën on the sidelines. Jurriën had already withdrawn from the squad earlier during their US preparations. The Dutch squad will train one final time in Kansas City on Friday morning before flying to Houston for tonight’s press conference. Further updates will follow from World Cup coverage.
