12 Years of Hidden Scissors in My Friend’s Abdomen after C-Section

12 Years of Hidden Scissors in My Friend’s Abdomen after C-Section — 1 of 5
1 / 5

Please join me in thanking God for saving my friend from an untimely death due to a surgeon’s mistake at FMC Yenagoa. She had a C-section in 2013. Over the last four years, she suffered constant abdominal pain and even developed ulcers despite scans and medication. Last November, an X-ray finally revealed the forgotten scissors. Surgeons removed the instrument successfully. My friend Ebi Dakolo is now recovering well and will continue to enjoy life with her two children.

While this mistake is tragic, blaming the entire medical team ignores improvements they've made since 2013.

After any surgery, insist on reviewing the instrument count and get follow-up imaging if persistent pain doesn't improve.
